“The Marketplace” launched by NGO ChemSec aims to provide information to companies wishing to future-proof their chemical used, providing information about safer alternatives to hazardous or toxic chemicals. The site provides information about safer chemicals, including from companies supplying alternative chemicals, but also regulatory information and step-by-step guide to chemical substitution.
Lynette Chung, Head of Corporate Sustainability Strategy & Advocacy at Clariant, pinfa member and producer of PIN flame retardants, is quoted by ChemSec: “The Marketplace provides us with an additional opportunity to highlight already existing solutions and identify further opportunities for collaboration and innovation in promotion of sustainability and chemical safety”. The Marketplace builds on input from ChemSec’s business group which includes companies such as Apple, Coop, H&M, Ikea, Sony.
