EU Building Energy Performance Directive and fire risks

The EU has published the revised energy performance of buildings Directive (EPBD). This notes that Member States renovation strategies can address fire safety, and that major renovation of buildings should be encouraged to take into account fire safety. This results from inclusion into the final Directive text of an amendment proposed by Parliament, following the Grenfell Tower fire.

EU revised Directive on the energy performance of buildings and on energy efficiency (2018/844, amending Directive 2010/31/EU), published 19th June 2018
