Hitachi Cable America (Hitachi Metals group) has obtained UL (Underwriters Laboratories) certification as ‘Low smoke halogen free’ (LSHF) for its NanoCore® optical cables, that is UL 2885 (based on IEC 62821-1, 2, 3). This UL standard covers both the complete cable and all components used in it, and enables third-party certification of producer claims, user and installer confidence, and installation conform to the US national electrical code.
The NanoCore® cables are available multi-unit, dual jacket, as interconnectors and armoured, and are adapted to interior uses in walls, floors, plenum ducts, etc, where fire resistance is important to avoid spread of fire from one room to another and ensure continuity of communications and safety signalling. The PIN FR jacketing ensures resistance to stress during building works and installation and reliable and safe use over time.
