Andrea Castrovinci, SUPSI Switzerland, presented development of a scaled-down SBI-type testing apparatus, permitting screening fire tests of panel materials.
The design is similar to the full-scale SBI (Single Burning Item) test, which uses 2.25 m2 of material set up as a room corner.
The scaled-down version uses 0.375 m2 in a similar set up, but in an enclosure which can be installed into a standard cone calorimeter test apparatus.
