Great Lakes
The US and Canada have designated (31st May 2016) a first set of ‘Chemicals of Mutual Concern for the Great Lakes’ under the Canada-US Great Lakes Water Quality Agreement.
The list of eight chemicals / families of chemicals, published following a science review process and public consultation, includes three halogenated flame retardants: HBCD, PBDEs and short chain chlorinated paraffins (SCCPs).
