The RoHS Directive (Restriction of Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Equipment 2011/65/EU) is currently under review. The open consultation targets both the general public, with four questions concerning RoHS and recycling (hazardous substances in recycled materials, recycling costs) and 30 questions for industry and specialists. These address regulatory and administrative aspects, scope and exemptions, compliance and market surveillance (including online EEE sales), criteria for allowing restricted substances in EEE recycling, Critical Raw Materials in EEE, process for the review and amendment of the RoHS list of restricted substances, coherence between RoHS and POPs (Persistent Organic Pollutants) regulation for certain brominated flame retardants (PBDEs).
