Commission says it is “important to address fire safety related to the green transition” in reply to joint letter signed by pinfa and nearly twenty other organisations (see pinfa Newsletter n°152). Paula Pinho, Director at DG Energy, responsible for the Just Transition and Energy Efficiency, recognises the need for more coordinated and holistic efforts on fire safety, especially for the energy transition. She indicates that the Commission is working with Member States on exchange of best practices and is looking at how best to facilitate actions such as research, testing of fire behaviour of new materials and technologies, building safety, technical regulations and standards.
