Non-halogenated flame retardants represent more than two thirds of the volume of FRs consumed in Europe

The chart (see link below) shows the consumption of flame retardants in Europe in 2007, which amounted to a total of 498 000 metric tons (source: EFRA). Non-halogenated FRs are shown in different shades of blue. Antimony trioxide is an inorganic flame retardant, however, it is commonly only used in combination with halogenated FRs or halogenated polymers.
