18th AMI Fire Resistance in Plastics (FriP) conference
FriP 2024, organised by AMI and moderated by Chris Smith, brought together some 110 participants, of including FR manufacturers, compounders, distributors or polymer companies.
A survey of conference participants showed that half are today working only with PIN flame retardants, half are using PIN FRs and also brominated flame retardants, and only two participants are interested in only brominated. There is demand for innovation: two-thirds of participants consider that today’s flame retardants do not achieve tomorrow’s needs.
FriP 2024 included participant round table discussions on: anti-drip, recycling, regulation, commercialisation of FRs, FRs in electrification, building and construction.
