EU 6th ‘omnibus’ simplification proposals

Proposal aims to simplify chemical regulations for chemicals labelling and REACH requirements. This legislative proposal must now go to European Parliament and Council so may be modified. The proposed changes to the CLP Regulation (Classification, Labelling and Packaging of chemicals) aim to simplify labelling rules for hazardous chemicals, allowing more flexible, easy-to-read designs, expand digital labelling, and ease advertising rules to reduce costs and complexity. The proposal also includes a new ECHA (European Chemicals Agency) regulation to clarify the Agency’s independent legal status and enable it to better fulfill its growing duties.
