European Fire Safety Alliance Action Plan
Fire safety agenda proposes actions on awareness, vulnerable communities, energy transition, data and collaboration. The European Fire Safety Alliance, led by firefighters, fire safety researchers and burn victims, proposed a first European Fire Safety Action Plan in 2020 (pinfa Newsletter n°114), with ten action points. Evaluation of this Plan (September 2024) concludes that it has contributed to promoting fire safety research (including relevant to vulnerable populations), knowledge and awareness, in particular concerning fire safety in the energy transition (e.g. electrification, green buildings). The revised Action Plan 2024-2026 extends recommendations and targets vulnerable communities, fire safe furniture and mattresses, smoke alarms, LIP (low ignition propensity) cigarettes, fire & rescue services, fire safety awareness, energy transition, research, fire statistics and data on residential fires, collaboration.
pinfa is proud to be a partner of the European Fire Safety Alliance.
