Flame retardant masterbatch without ATO
RDC (Italy) launches non-halogen flame retardant masterbatch, without antimony, using synergists from pinfa member Tolsa. The RDC (Rubber Dispersion Chemicals) new Veaflame masterbatch shows reduced peak heat release, low smoke and dense, compact char for enhanced fire protection of rubbers. Tolsa’s non-halogen FR synergists avoid use of antimony trioxide (ATO) which the company says faces supply and price challenges. The Tolsa synergists reduce smoke and heat release and improve anti-dripping, with applications in PVC, polyamides, polypropylene, cables, rubbers and fire protective coatings. Production in Europe enables reliable supply and short lead times, and aligns with sustainability objectives.
