Netflix documentary. Survivors, witnesses and experts tell the tragic story of how 72 lives were unnecessarily lost and the investigation into the Government and company actions which led to these deaths. Non-fire-safe cladding used on Grenfell Tower in the 2014-2016 refurbishment is described as “sticking a petrol tanker on the building”. The deliberate evasion of fire safety regulations by the insulation companies involved and Government deregulation are laid bare. It didn’t have to happen.
