India: FRLSZH cables for railway safety
NorthEast Frontier Railway installs PIN Flame Retardant Low Smoke Zero Halogen cables for passenger safety. The company says the move to FRLSZH cables will protect from fire, smoke and toxic gases during emergencies. The “ZH” is indicated to avoid harmful or toxic halogen gases being released in fire. This reduces both life threats to passengers and damage to trains. FRLSZH cables have already been installed in 14 long tunnels on the newly constructed Bairabi – Sairang railway line, and will be installed to the further 34 shorter tunnels on this line, and in tunnels on other new lines.
